Let’s start with the basics, what is God eater? This is an action from a third person, the essence of which is to kill huge monsters. There are various attacks, different weapons, special movements, shooting and pumping in the form of improvement of weapons. If this formula reminded you of Monster Hunter, then there is nothing surprising in this.

For a long time, the GOD Eater Games series was in the shadow of its ancestor – Monster Hunter. After all, both Grindilles, with similar mechanics and goals, kill huge monsters with huge guns. And I do not deny this, they have a lot in common, but there are differences. It’s like fighting. The essence is one, the implementation is different. Monster Hunter has more interactivity, more weapons and armor, more than cards and their size. God Eater takes dynamism, a combination of near and distant combat, plot and atmosphere.

Despite Japanese origin, God Eater is not a bunch of anime stamps. More or less decent and reasonably. However, no one is perfect. There are big guns. The classic Japanese plot about the end of the world and the philosophical essence of being is also present. Whether it interferes? No.

The series originates from the PSP game of the same name, released on February 4, 2010 from the little well -known Shift, which engaged in games for PSP, under the publishing house Bandai Namco. The game was often compared with the already popular (in Japan) Monster Hunter published much earlier. The game received mixed reviews, despite this, in Japan the game received warmth.

By the way, before the release of the game in September 2009, a separate series of anime was released, which is a small backstory for the game. To understand the plot is completely not obligatory.
The game was sold well and in the fall of the same year a reprint was released, God Eater Burst, adding new mechanics and expanding the story.

The continuation did not force itself to wait and already in November 2013 the God Eater 2 came out on PSP and PS Vita, having received the same assessments. The game greatly expanded the plot and story, added new elements, but did not change the main formula of the game.

But since 2015, the series just broke through! In February, a reprint of God Eater 2: Rage Burst was published, here you still have a ton of the plot, a heap of characters, and mechanics, etc.D. In July, you will receive 12 serial anime (unfortunately the last series came out with a significant delay) describing the events of the first game. In October, God Eater Resurrection reprint the first part, which included Burst, a toned graphon (I remind you of the first parts on PSP), many new products, and most importantly, access to PS 4 and PC. Moreover, by buying God Eater 2: Rage Burst, you will get God Eater Resurrection for free (still relevant). More recently (for the whole world, the Japanese have been playing since December), namely, on February 8, 3 part came out (I have not reached it yet, and while I will have time to play everything), the review of which has already come out.

Shikzal was well aware of this when writing a report on what happened. If you write the whole truth, the project will be closed and humanity will lose such an opportunity, therefore, it is at risk its position and not saying to anyone from the team, the chiczal is slightly changed by the report so that it would seem more promising. And the work continues.

After some time, the US Army turns to three scientists with a request for help. In areas of the coast, extremely strange life forms are noticed, both mutating animals and not at all ordinary. Aisha later finds out that Shikzal has forged a report. After work they meet, and Aisha tells him that she found out. Shikzal realizes what he did and despite the risk, could not resist. Cases of the appearance of these creatures began to increase, and the situation has gained serious scale, information about them began to appear in the media. Later, the leadership of Fenrir ordered this direction to suspend this direction and closed access to it.

October 11, 2050 Apocalypse occurred. The team of scientists noted successful experiments. Fenrir’s headquarters was against the continuation of the project and even cut them off from the military. Scientists were even ready to start the mass production of the Oracle Cells System, realizing that after that they would not be a place in Fenrire. Their conversation was interrupted by an earthquake that became only the beginning. Black stakes of enormous sizes began to grow from the ground. They grew above skyscrapers, destroying everything.

Only the buildings survived at the top of which stood a system that repels oracle cells based on the selectivity factor, the result of the long work of scientists. Then awareness came. Fenrir knew about everything, they specifically ordered the project to suspend in order to protect only themselves.
A day later, growth stopped and creatures appeared similar to what was shown in the games, then the name Aragami (Aragami 荒神, “Violent God”, cruel gods, sometimes brutal gods, beasts), connecting events with the end of the world, appeared.

Unable to stand aside, the chiczal decides to start the production of weapons based on the selectivity factor, Aisha and Paylor support him without hesitation. The weapon modified by the cells of the oracle made it possible to repulse the arahags and save thousands of lives.

But the process of childbirth went completely out of plan. Doctors were forced to use a cesarean section. The first cut happened terrible. Aisha was torn. In the operating room, everything was covered with living flesh. The corpses of doctors were lying everywhere.

Shikzal in shock from what happened, rushed inside. But for Shikzal it was already unimportant, what happened was a strong blow. He did not work in the laboratory anymore, only sat at home and looked after his son. Time passed, but it didn’t become easier for Shikzal, at one moment could not continue, he tried to kill himself.

In the hospital of Fenrir, he was saved, although he was clinically dead for several minutes. Having learned about this, Paylor returned and supported his friend. During the conversation, Paylor mentioned rumors that the messengers of the end of the world, they will devour everything, and themselves, too, until one only Aragama remains that the whole world will absorb. Devouring the apocalypse. After which the earth will be reborn without arahags. Perhaps this is the fate that the chiczal is still alive and must change such future. Returning to Fenrir, Shikzal continued to work as a scientist, and thanks to the amulet of Paylor, he created a wall based on a selectivity factor that repels the araga. Due to this, it became possible to reliably protect the branches of Fenrir, which became the last stronghold of mankind. For this, Shikzal was raised to the director of the Far Eastern branch and approved the Egid project. Later he will invite Paylor to the position of chief scientist to his branch.

And only after all, in 2070, does the first game of God Eater begin, where the player goes to hunting in the role of the gods of the gods.

And here is the promised story of the series that I signed up during Stream God Eater 3, sorry for so long, but God Eater Resurrection and some things took too much time (lies and provocation, just someone lazy …). My attempts to squeeze a story for a review (excuse me for some jambs, and yes, what was there, only a small share), and have encouraged to write a full -fledged history of the series. Here is only what happened before the start of the first game and it turned out quite decently. The first part I am already passing in full and the original God Eater has already finished (t.e. somewhere a third of the whole game), which means the continuation is already written.
Most arts and material are taken from the anime of the same name, although some events diverge a little with the game or are not described at all (for example, Paylor did not visit the chiczal in the hospital in the game story, and only after the formation of the chiczal did they meet).
